Update on Rohingya Issue

Dear Delegates, Speakers and Participants,

We understand that there are concerns about what have happened in Myanmar about Rohingya a few months ago. The unrest occurred just in a pocket area of the northern Rakhine State, which is about 400 km away from Yangon where the 17th ASEAN ORL-HNS Congress will take place. In Yangon, peace and security is as good as before. A map showing the location of Rakhine State and Yangon is shown below. Yangon has never been a place of alert as it is very far away from the unrest area.

Now the situation in the whole Myanmar is completely calm, and everything is back to normal.

The 17th ASEAN ORL-HNS Congress is a platform for sharing experiences and cooperation for improving ORL-HNS care and management. Participants are requested to look at the academic value of the congress and the opportunity to improve the healthcare through this meeting. The scientific exchange among the doctors will also strengthen and broaden the relationships among medical professionals.

The 17th ASEAN ORL-HNS Congress will proceed as planned. The committee will work with the congress venue to have a cheerful and comfortable environment.

Updated news can be accessed in the Myanmar Government websites. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the organizing committee and secretariat.
